Performance and Voice’ explores the connection between body and voice, and is inspired by the experimental approach of the Roy Hart Theatre to the embodied voice on stage. We will work on vocal musicality, improvisation, singing, speech, and the body in performance. Participants will work through imagination and exercises to develop presence, confidence and body awareness in space. The work will evolve to include composition, polyphonic singing, individual and collective interpretation. The work will encourage authentic vocal expression.
Bring a memorised text (song, poetry, prose) of between 50 and 200 words. Participants from all fields and levels of experience are welcome.
